Four Stars ****
Don’t get me wrong, I think all dolls are useful! They give companionship, build imagination and lead to nurturing skills. But here’s a doll that is really unique: They’re called ‘Nice Mice,’ (I know, I know! One should be a ‘Nice Mouse,’ shouldn’t it?) :-) and you can pop them in the microwave, heat them up, and use them as bed or handwarmers, or pop them in the fridge and use them as a boo-boo coolers.
And of course they’re cute, soft, and instead of being filled with plastic pellets and fiberfill, thy’re filled with flax seed, lavender and chamomille, and can be used for children’s aromatherapy as well. And children love them!
The Doll Blog is giving them a four diamond rating.
- Appearance: Cute mouse doll, rope tail, embroidered face, soft polyester and cotton shell.
- Child Safety: Only a half diamond here - By itself it is safe, but parental supervision is needed around the microwave. ( includes clear microwave / heating instructions)
- Size: at 4.5 inches, perfect size for it’s function as a children’s handwarmer, pocket warmer or bedwarmer.
- Playability: I’m giving it a full diamond. Not only did our test group love the mouse doll itself, they loved it’s aromatic and heating pad functions as well.
- Life Span: I was going to give it a full star, for it won’t be any less useful when used by a twelve year old than by a three year old. But the removable shell, the “mouse” that covers the herb and seed filled bag, is not machine washable; I think that will shorten it’s lifespan. A half diamond here as well.
